SARTELL -- Mike Zauhar scored 20 points and Jake Phillips added 17 to lead the Brainerd Warriors boys' basketball team to a 62-50 Central Lakes Conference victory over Sartell Friday.
The Warriors led 46-23 at halftime, thanks to 28 points in the second quarter.
"We came out early with a lot of energy, which was a huge factor," said Warrior coach Matt Urbanek.
"We had great defensive energy. (Bryce) Cloutier and (Dusty) Erickson played well defensively on the post."
Zauhar added eight rebounds and Phillips added 9 assists. However, it was the defense for the Warriors that shined, as they held Sartell to only 14 field goals on the night.
