MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Former Vice President Walter F. Mondale today endorsed Vice President Al Gore on WCCO Radio.
''I talked with the vice president a couple nights ago and told him that I intended to support him for president, and I guess I'm announcing it now,'' Mondale said.
Mondale also said Gore told him he would be coming to Minnesota on March 9. Mondale plans to be with Gore at the appearance, the details of which have yet to be announced.
The former vice president's support is more than symbolic. As a super delegate to the Democratic National Convention, Mondale will be able to cast a nominating vote for Gore.
