A Crosby man was found guilty Wednesday in Crow Wing County District Court on criminal charges resulting from the 1997 robbery of a bank in Emily.

A jury found Ryan A. Vollmer, 24, guilty of first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery and theft.

Vollmer will be sentenced April 3. A presentence investigation was ordered.

Vollmer was one of two men indicted in connection with the robbery. The other, Jason A. Anker, 24, is awaiting trial.

A grand jury indicted Anker with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and terroristic threats. His case is currently at the omnibus hearing stage and is currently under advisement by the court.

The case stems from the Aug. 14, 1997, robbery of the Emily branch of the First National Bank of Crosby. It is alleged that Anker, displaying a handgun, entered the bank and fled with about $10,000 in a getaway vehicle driven by Vollmer.
