STAPLES -- Edith M. Quance, 79, Staples, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, at Greater Staples Care Center.
She was born April 23, 1921, in Staples to William Edward and Marie Emma (Hall) Klos. She married Glenn L. Quance. He died in October of 1976. She formed a Christian music group that traveled 10 states. She was a teacher's aide and worked in the cafeteria for 10 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Kay Doepner, Mahtomedi, and Pamela Harris, Park Rapids; three sons, Garry L. Quance, Montgomery, Patrick D. Quance, Staples, and Joel D. Quance, Staples; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Geneva G. Payne, St. Paul.
Her husband; a son, Michael; a brother, George E. Klos; a sister, Pauline Klos; and two great-grandchildren died earlier.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Staples Church of Christ with Pastor Barry Klein and Edith's son, Joel Quance, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at the Staples Church of Christ.
