MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Beginning as early as Friday, state lawmakers will get air time on WCCO Radio to rebut comments made by Gov. Jesse Ventura during his weekly ''Lunch with the Governor'' show.
On Monday, DFL Sen. Ember Reichgott Junge requested an hour of bipartisan rebuttal time every week. She said Ventura's hour of unedited air time, without reporters screening or challenging inaccuracies, can leave false statements uncorrected.
WCCO general manager Brian Whittemore said Tuesday the station will offer time each Friday beginning at 1:10 p.m. Ventura's show is broadcast from 11 a.m. to noon.
Whittemore said the show will have a balance of Republican and Democratic participants.
