Brainerd High School juniors and seniors on April 23 will give the prom tradition a new twist. Madden's Resort, which will host the dinner and dance, has offered its new town hall convention facility at no charge if at least 400 people make reservations for the prom.

Nellie Hazerka makes rosaries - over 4,500 of them to date - many of which found their way to the rice paddies in Vietnam. Mrs. Hazerka is a charter member of St. Teresa's Rosary Club in Motley.

Mrs. Irene Crosby, assistant vice president of Citizens State Bank of Brainerd, has retired after 42 years of service with that bank. Mrs. Crosby started in banking at Citizens State in September of 1921 after graduating from high school here.

Deep snow drifts and blocked streets failed to halt Arthur R. Hautala when he went to work Saturday morning. On skis he traveled easily over the drifts while most persons walked or waited on bus or taxi or stayed home.
