Verndale rallies for win

VERNDALE -- The Verndale Pirates girls' basketball team picked up their third win of the year beating New York Mills 54-49 Tuesday.

The Pirates rallied back from a eight point deficit at the end of the first half for the victory.

"It was a nice way to end our regular season" said Verndale coach Art Schluttner.

The Pirates were led by Raya Kern who finished with 21 points and 16 rebounds. Kayla White scored 20, had eight assists, and added five steals.
