(Photo) Russ Gnan, 19, a first-year student at Brainerd Community College, took over the Baxter precinct caucus at Brainerd High School after he was elected precinct chair. Gnan said he'd never been to a caucus before and certainly hadn't expected to be chair.

Approximately $14,000 of sterling silver items were stolen from an elderly Ironton woman's home after she hurriedly left to keep a doctor's appointment. Taken from a dining room cabinet were a sterling silver flatware set and two candleholders.

The American Legion Auxiliary band, under the direction of Miss Effie Drexler, will give its annual concert on March 1 in the high school auditorium. The concert will consist of three parts, each accompanied by a change of costume.
