20 years ago (1988)

Brainerd High School senior debaters Chris Kelkar and Lonny Smith are the second duo in as many years to advance to the National Forensic League Tournament.

30 years ago (1978)

Randy Fabel, who demonstrated here for two seasons he knows a lot of ways to put a basketball through the hoop, was named to the Association Press All-State Team of the Year selections. Being recognized as one of the 10 best in the state is a heap of an honor.

40 years ago (1968)

A 16-member St. Joseph's Hospital Advisory Board met for the first time last night. This marks the first time such a board has existed at the hospital. John Riedl was named chairman of the board.

60 years ago (1948)

At a regular meeting of the Roosevelt Chapter, Order of DeMolay, held in the Masonic Hall, Robert Sedlock was elected master councilor.

80 years ago (1928)

Crosby-Ironton defeated Brainerd High School by a score of 17 to 14 last night. The Crosby-Ironton boys deserved to win, because of playing superior ball. This snapped a string of 10 wins for Brainerd.

100 years ago (1908)
