New shop
The new, 30,000-square-foot Heavy Equipment Operation and Maintenance shop at Central Lakes College's Staples campus opened recently as 125 students in the program started the spring term. Instructor John Maleski showed students Greg Lehmicke (left) of Hugo and Larry Groshong of Brainerd a newly purchased 25-ton John Deere excavator that fit nicely in the high-ceiling shop. The program's spring term runs to May 30.
