Ernest E. Richard
PILLAGER -- Ernest E. Richard, 79, Pillager, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, at St. Joseph's Medical Center.
He was born June 25, 1921, in Houghton, Mich., to Ernest J. and Elizabeth (Snowden) Richard. He married Roseanna Adams on Nov. 1, 1941, in Detroit. He worked for North Central Public Service as superintendent and supervisor over construction of gas pipelines for 35 years until his retirement in 1988. They moved to Pillager in 1992.
Survivors include his wife; a son, David E. Richard, Spring Lake Park; two daughters, Joan Leon, Golden Valley, and Debra Roepke, Pillager; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Margaret Anders, Iron Mountain, Mich., Mary Dewar, Escanaba, Mich., Theresa Bennett, Negaunee, Mich., and Lorraine Kroneck, Traverse City, Mich.
Five brothers, two sisters and a grandson died earlier.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter with Father Robert Landsberger officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery.
