Lyscio sets St. Scholastica mark

Brainerd's Tom Lyscio recently set the College of St. Scholastica men's indoor shot put school record with a distance of 45 feet, 7.63 inches.

Lyscio, who received All-UMAC honorable mention for the first-year St. Scholastica football program, played in all eight games and had four catches for 43 yards and a touchdown for the Saints, who went 1-7.

The freshman also made the dean's list (minimum 3.75 grade-point average).

Zemke to speak to boosters club

Brainerd Warrior boys' swimming and diving coach John Zemke will be the speaker at the Brainerd Sports Boosters Club meeting, which begins at noon Thursday at the Moose Lodge.

Olivia Elsenpeter, the Warrior Athlete of the Week, will be honored.
