The Warrior wrestling team showed its best finish since its state title in 1982 by finishing second to top-ranked Simley, falling by a score of 35-17. Bruce Thompson's team was led by Chris Studer, fifth at 145 pounds, and Brian Grimsley, fourth at 126.

The Crow Wing County grand jury began meeting today in the county courthouse after being summoned by Judge Clinton Wyant. No details of their deliberations were released; however, it is believed they may touch on recent allegations of police brutality.

A wage negotiating panel of Brainerd school teachers last night told the school board salary committee that they are taking the current wage dispute to an arbitration panel. Birney Wilkins, committee chair, had told the teachers he had nothing new to offer.

The home of Ray Kapp, who was recently the victim of a shooting accident, was gutted by a flash fire this morning. Mrs. Kapp and her children were at home but escaped without injury.

(Brainonian) Miss Tornstrom and Mr. Kasch again appeal to the student body for appropriate names that can be applied to BHS athletic teams. Is there no better one to be found than Warriors or Thundering Herd or the Blue and White?

J. L. Neary, of Northome, has leased the Globe Hotel from William Wise, and will take possession March 1. Mr. Wise will retain the saloon and bowling alley.
