Pierz wins; Huskies fall

HOLDINGFORD - Aric Welle scored 15 points and Michael Weber scored 14 to lead the Pierz Pioneers past the Holdingford Huskers 65-53 in Central Minnesota Conference boys' basketball Monday.

Robert Bell and Chad Lanners each added 10 points for the Pioneers, who improved to 13-10 overall.

PILLAGER - Tyler Holbrook scored a game-high 29 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out eight assists for the Pillager Huskies as they lost to the Browerville Tigers 78-71 in non-conference boys' basketball Monday.

Of Holbrook's 29 points, 15 came from behind the 3-point arc.

Josh Rardin added 11 points and Jake Eastman scored 10 for the Huskies, who finished the regular season at 9-15.
