Janis G. Jerentosky

FIFTY LAKES - Janis Gail Jerentosky, 68, of Fifty Lakes, died at her home, surrounded by family and friends on Feb. 20, 2008.

Memorial services will be Saturday, May 17, 2008, at 10 a.m. at Crosslake Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Anderson officiating. Following the service, friends are invited to the Jerentosky home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Camp Knutson.

Janis was born Dec. 12, 1939, in Red Wing, Minn., the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Clifford and Helen (Johnson) Hellickson. She was raised in the Cannon Falls area. On Aug. 7, 1961, Janis was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Jerentosky. Janis worked as a librarian at Salem Hills Elementary School in Inver Grove Heights. In 1976, Janis and Bob began spending time on Mitchell Lake near Fifty Lakes. They moved to this residence permanently in 1995, when Janis retired. Janis was a member of Crosslake Lutheran Bible Study and numerous book clubs. She volunteered at the Crosslake Library, which she actively helped to create. She was a volunteer at Camp Knutson and she supported various grief groups. She was also a proud member of the Fifty Lakes "Red Hatters".

Janis will be missed by her sons, Scott Jerentosky, Fifty Lakes, Mark (Stephanie) Jerentosky, St. Paul, and Rick Jerentosky, Fifty Lakes; her siblings, Judy Kaushagen, Eagan, and Dr. Raymond "Buzz" Hellickson, North Oaks; and three grandchildren, Ryan, Kora and Wesley.

Janis was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Arrangements entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
