AITKIN -- James Victor Lundbohm, 73, Aitkin, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, at Riverwood Extended Healthcare of Aitkin.
He was born Sept. 6, 1926, in Duluth to Victor and Esther (Alldrin) Lundbohm. He graduated from Roseau High School, St. Cloud State College and U.M.D. and received his master's degree from the University of Minnesota. He was a teacher and principal of Lester Prairie High School. He was a driver's education instructor and was a substitute teacher in Cromwell and McGregor. He enlisted in the Navy on June 16, 1943, during World War II as a Pharmacist's Mate Second Class. He served at USNTS Farragut, Idaho, Hosp. Corps Sch. San Diego, Calif., USHN Long Beach, Calif., and USN Hosp. Aiea Heights, T. H. Navy No. 10. He was discharged on March 15, 1946. He married Connie Elaine (Berg) Lundbohm on Aug. 15, 1964, at the Aitkin United Methodist Church. He was a past member of the Aitkin American Legion.
Survivors include a daughter, Janene Russell, Aitkin; two stepchildren, Robin Gooderum, Champlin, and Ricky McDeid, St. Cloud; five grandchildren; and a sister, Joan Richard.
His parents, his wife, two brothers, Peter Alldrin Lundbohm (infant) and Jack Alldrin Lundbohm, died earlier.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Willim Aitkin Funeral Chapel of Aitkin with Pastor Dallas Smith officiating. The Aitkin American Legion will provide the Color Guard. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Fort Snelling National Cemetery with full military honors provided by Fort Snelling Memorial Rifle Squad.
Friends may call at Willim Aitkin Funeral Chapel an hour before services Saturday.
