The Harmony Engineers has organized a choral event that is intended to entertain as well as raise money for student scholarships, the group announced this week.
"It's Good to Sing," which will feature performances by the Harmony Engineers and several other area choral groups, is scheduled for 8 p.m. March 10 in Tornstrom Auditorium.
Adults who contribute $10 will have the option of joining a choral group who will perform two songs under the direction of Mike Smith, selected recently as Minnesota Choral Director of the Year. Smith is the choral director at Brainerd High School.

Jody Crowe of Harmony Engineers said the event will help high school students "see and hear the opportunities they will have for singing following their high school experience."
For example, "we are aware that the greatest opportunity for adults to continue singing past high school choir is in their local church," she said, adding that Cantate, a church choral group, will perform during the event.
Others on the schedule include the Heartland Harmony Sweet Adelines, Northcountrymen Barbershop Chorus and Windfall, a Brainerd High School group.
Hosted by the Harmony Engineers, the event is supported by Community Education and the A Cappella Alumni Association. For more information, contact Crowe at 825-8125.
