CUSHING -- Mary Allen, 64, Cushing, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
She was born March 14, 1935, in Gordon, Neb., to Alvin and Mable (Hunt) Johns. She married Kenneth Allen on Sept. 7, 1950, in Valentine, Neb. They lived in Sand Hill, Neb., Batesland, S.D., Pillager and then moved to their present farm in Cushing Township in 1962. She owned the Triangle Cafe and the Uptown Cafe in Randall. She operated the Jinx Cafe in Motley. She also worked as a waitress at several cafes in the area. She sewed for Larson Boat Works.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Kathleen Babb, Pillager, and Linda Johnson, Motley; three sons, Thomas Allen, Newport, Neil Allen, Motley, and John Allen, Randall; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Connor, Gordon, Neb.; and a brother, Orvis Johnson, Hay Springs, Neb.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Cushing Baptist Church of Cushing with the Rev. Mark Erickson officiating. Burial will be in Cushing Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Brenny Funeral Chapel of Randall with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
