Seven arrested on drug charges
Seven people were arrested in the last two weeks for various drug-related crimes.
The arrests were made following investigations by the Lakes Area Drug Investigative Division, Crow Wing County Sheriff Dick Ross reported.
On Feb. 15, four people were arrested in Fort Ripley Township on charges of possession of a controlled substance and sale of a controlled substance. A vehicle and suspected crack cocaine were seized.
A 30-year-old man, Mark Allen Ringness, and a 28-year-old man, Charles Smith, were charged in Crow Wing County District Court with first-degree controlled substance crime. Smith is being held in Crow Wing County jail.
An 18-year-old woman also was arrested but has not been formerly charged. A juvenile girl also was arrested.
On Feb. 19, two men were arrested for sale of a controlled substance after a traffic stop in Baxter by the Baxter Police Department. Methamphetamine was seized during the stop. The LADID and the Crow Wing County K-9 unit assisted.
One suspect, 25-year-old Jeffrey Michael Cordova, was charged in district court with second-degree sale of a controlled substance. The other, 23-year-old Robert Randall Jessen, was charged in district court with fifth-degree controlled substance crime.
On Feb. 20, the LADID executed a search warrant at a residence on the 10000 block of Robin Street in Crow Wing Township and arrested a 33-year-old woman on sale of a controlled substance charges.
Melissa Robin Collier was formerly charged with fifth-degree controlled substance crime in district court. She also has two active warrants, one for possession of a controlled substance and the other for misdemeanor DUI, and is being held in Crow Wing County Jail.
Ross reported charges also are expected to be filed against two other adults who were present at the residence at the time the search warrant was executed.
The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department assisted.
