Marshall eliminates Pequot boys' hockey team

MARSHALL -- The sixth-seeded Marshall Tigers eliminated the No. 11 Pequot Lakes Patriots 10-3 in the opening round of the Section 4A boys' hockey tournament Tuesday.
Marshall advances to play at third-seeded Wadena-Deer Creek in the quarterfinals 7 p.m. Thursday.
In Tuesday's other playoff openers No. 7 Benson blanked No. 10 Morris 5-0 and eighth-seeded Long Prairie/Grey Eagle beat No. 9 Sauk Centre 6-3.
On Thursday, Benson plays at No. 2 Detroit Lakes and Long Prairie-Grey Eagle plays at top-seeded Fergus Falls. Both games start at 7 p.m.
