Family Safety Network, a domestic violence advocacy program for Cass County, recently hired an executive director, Shannon Pfeiffer.
Pfeiffer is a graduate of Moorhead State University and holds bachelor of arts degrees in criminal justice and sociology. She comes to the program after one and a half years of volunteering in the Cass County Crime Victims' Services.
The network provides assistance to victims of domestic violence in a variety of means, such as arranging for them to get to a safe place, general advocacy, legal advocacy, referrals and a weekly support group, as well as providing educational programs to schools and community organizations to create avenues of awareness and help to eliminate family violence.
The Family Safety Network office is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Anyone interested in attending a volunteer training workshop, in need of assistance or wanting more information may call 547-1636. Those calling from outside the Walker calling area may use 1-800-324-8151.
