Dog training class planned in Staples

STAPLES - A basic dog training class will be offered from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursdays for eight weeks beginning March 2 at the Staples Community Center.

Gordy Schlichting will be the instructor.

Cost is $50. Dogs must have all shots up to date, including rabies and parvovirus. Bring a copy of the shot records to class with a 6-foot leather leash and chain training collar.

Painting classes offered in Staples

STAPLES - One-stroke and watercolor painting classes are scheduled in March through Staples-Motley Community Education. Call Julie to register at (218) 894-2497.

The one-stroke beginning class will be from 6-9 p.m. March 9 in Room 100 at Staples Motley High School. Paint a large papier-mache box with a daisy design to keep.

Cost is $24. Supplies are included but participants are asked to bring a No. 10 flat synthetic brush and a No. 4 round synthetic brush.

The watercolor class will be from 7-9:30 p.m. March 14 and 21 in Room 100 at Staples Motley High School. Cost is $20. A material list will be provided upon registration. Supplies are extra.
