Hardbound books sought for Crosslake library project

CROSSLAKE - With plans for the Crosslake library's building proceeding, the call now continues to be for book donations.

Donations of gently used hardbound books are needed. The library has reached one-third of its goal of 11,000 books by opening day. Donated books may be dropped off at the Crosslake Community Center.

Northern National Bank donated $500, which is expected to buy 25 to 30 new books. The bank also pledged $500 a year for four years, which will continue to help with book purchases.

North Country Plumbing and Heating donated $2,000 with the pledge of an additional $1,000.

The library project has raised a total of $410,700 in grants, cash and pledges with $330,000 of that in cash.

Work on the concept design for the library is ongoing.
