Bob Brenneman will speak on comparing the images Muslims and Christians have of each other at 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the Remnant Ministry Center in Brainerd. World Day of Prayer
First Lutheran Church, Brainerd, will host a World Day of Prayer on March 1. Registration will be from 12:30-1 p.m. The program, titled Women of Romania, will begin at 1 p.m. Nursery care will be provided. Pam Peterson and Kari Brusseau will share their experiences. Refreshments will follow in the fellowship hall.
There will be a fish fry from 5-7:30 p.m. every Friday during Lent at St. Francis Catholic Church. Freewill offering. All proceeds will go to St. Francis Catholic School.
Zion Lutheran Church
There will be a youth-led worship service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Zion Lutheran Church in Brainerd. Circuit Bible Institute will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday. Topics to be discussed are End of Life Issues led by the Rev. Todd Schroeder, Lake Shore; A Letter to the Seven Churches led by the Rev. Robin Collins, Staples; and It's Your Gift: Open It led by the Rev. David Becker, Aitkin. A lasagna supper will be 5 p.m. following the sessions with all proceeds going toward medical expenses for Mearan Pohl. Lutheran Brotherhood Branch No. 8381 will provide matching funds up to $500.
The Sedertwangs and the Trinity Light music team will lead worship at the 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. services Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Brainerd. The Sedertwangs, Bud, Paola, Maren and Haven Sederquist, are a country/bluegrass music group, using mandolin, bass, violin, cello, guitar and vocals. Trinity Light music team is a contemporary Christian music group, led by Trinity's youth and family director, Mark Giese.
Trinity Lenten series
"Marks of Discipleship," Trinity Lutheran Church's Lenten series, continues Wednesday evening at 1420 S. Sixth St., Brainerd. Supper is provided at 5:15 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall, followed by worship at 6 p.m., featuring the music of "Holden Evening Prayer" by Marty Haugen.
St. John's Parish
St. John's Parish, Lastrup, will host a smorgasbord from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. March 3. Turkey, ham, dressing, sauerkraut, au gratin potatoes, hot dishes, salads, homemade breads and pies will be available. Adults, $6; ages 6-12, $4; children under 6, free.
