Posted: Thursday, February 22, 2001

Bill Staines, the "happy wanderer" of the folk music circuit, opens the Grassroots Concerts spring series at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Nisswa Community Center. The New England native has been a fixture in the folk scene for more than 30 years, traveling more than a million miles, he says.

Last chance

The Central Lakes College production of "Hello, Dolly!" wraps it up this weekend with evening performances today through Saturday in the John Chalberg Theatre, starting at 7:30 p.m., and a 2 p.m. performance Sunday. It's an elaborate production with a large cast of area actors and singers, period costumes and choreographed musical numbers.
