The Central Minnesota Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation will host it's 14th annual Hunting Heritage Banquet on Saturday at the Nisswa Community Center. Social hour (gobbling hour) begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m.
During the event, there will be live and silent auctions, raffles and games for numerous prizes, including several guns.
Also included will be the fourth annual Youth Turkey Calling Contest, beginning at 5 p.m. for youths up to age 17. This will give youths a chance to show off their turkey-calling skills while competing for prizes.

Hunting Expo scheduled Saturday
The Hunting Expo is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Beimert Outdoors.
It will include antler scoring and a pro knife sharpener will be on hand, so bring your knives. Bow, food plot and turkey reps will be on hand, and door prizes will include a turkey hunt for two. Food and beverages also will be available.

Sporting collectible show slated March 21
The sixth annual Brainerd Sporting Collectible Show is scheduled from 9 a.m.-4 pm. March 21 at Jack's House, 300 Highway 25 South in Brainerd.
The featured event is the Bob Johnson Invitational Fish Decoy Contest. Also featured will be concessions, door prizes and a silent auction.
Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for youths ages 5-12 and free for those 5 and younger.
Jack's House is located a half-mile south of the East Brainerd Mall on Highway 25.

Becoming an Outdoors Woman winter workshops scheduled
The DNR will offer three Becoming an Outdoors Woman winter workshops March 6-8 at Deep Portage Learning Center near Hackensack.
Sessions still available include winter shelters, archery, laser and air gun, climbing wall, smowmobiling, orienteering, ice fishing, cross-country skiing, wild game cooking, trapping, sled dog mushing, photography, landscaping and a snowshoe biathlon.
Cost is $180 per person, which includes lodging, meals, class equipment and instruction. Some scholarships are available.
Deep Portage is located 10 miles east of Hackensack, off Cass County Road 46.
