I certainly hope that the designers of roundabouts have improved on the one that I frequented in Clearwater. It was a nightmare and a day did not go by without a traffic mishap.

Why all the U-turns?

What's with all the illegal U-turns at the post office outside mail drop? It's been going on since the streets were changed and the police apparently won't stop it. Monday the 16th, I witnessed from 4:55-5:30 p.m., 42 cars drive up to the mailbox. Nineteen made illegal U-turns, four of the 19 made double U-turns and six people were on their cell phones. For an illegal U-turn, it's a $130 fine if no accidents are involved. At that rate, the city would collect thousands of dollars a day and prevent many accidents.

Editor's note: The Vox Pop Department of Traffic Control thinks this problem can be solved by installing a roundabout by the post office.
