Richard Stebbins and Jeff Lewis, both members of the Aadzuhman Shrine Club, Brainerd Lakes Area, were both elected potentates and will head regional shrine organizations.
Lewis, who lives on Crow Wing Lake, will head up the Zurah Shrine Region out of Minneapolis. That region has 2,834 members. He has been in many leadership positions in both the Shrine and Masonry. He is past grand master of the Masonic Grand Lodge of Minnesota.
Stebbins, who lives in Garrison, leads the Aad Shrine region out of Duluth (of which the Aadzuhman Shrine Club is attached). The region has about 1,200 members. Stebbins is a past president of the Aad Shrine Oriental Band and the Aadzuhman Shrine Club and a past master of the Masonic Lodge of Aitkin.
American Legion Auxiliary luncheon

Brainerd Lakes Area Audubon Society
The Brainerd Lakes Area Audubon Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Northland Arboretum.
Topic will be "A long-term study of lead poisoning in Bald Eagles" by Dr. Luis Cruz, The Raptor Center, University of Minnesota.
Every fall, The Raptor Center gets a significant increase in lead poisoned Bald Eagles. Where does the lead come from and how are the eagles ingesting it?
Cruz is a native of Costa Rica where he received his degree in veterinary medicine in 2005. He moved to Minnesota to work at The Raptor Center and completed a two year clinical internship caring for sick and/or injured raptors. He has continued on a veterinary residency program that has allowed him to complete a graduate degree in infectious diseases, with the topic of researching potential sources of lead exposure in eagles.
