Craig Engelhart
Age: 55.
City: Brainerd.
Style of music: "I've performed so many varieties of music throughout my career. I've pretty much changed with the times as I've performed. I started in the early '70s."
Craig Engelhart
Career: Engelhart has played with several area bands, notably the Wyld Ryce Band and Silent Partner. "In the future, my plans are to do more specialty shows like this one. Otherwise, I'm keying more on writing and recording."
Dream come true: "With the Wyld Ryce Band, performing on Country Music Television's 'You Can Be a Star' show (in the 1980s). We were one of the weekly winners there. It was down in Nashville. It was a big thrill for small-towners like us to go and perform, out of the thousands of acts that auditioned."
Ultimate dream: "An all-original album would be a dream. We did an all-original album in the Wyld Ryce Band, but to accomplish that again with some different flavorings would be the ultimate dream. That's the next step for me."
Favorite Brainerd lakes area hangout: "I generally watch the paper and pick and choose if there's (a band) I want to see."
Favorite bands/musicians: "Overall, the things I've listened to are the Eagles - the harmonies are great - the Little River Band; of course, the Beatles; and Eric Clapton as a songwriter."
John Pribyl
Age: 46.
City: Fifty Lakes.
High school: 1980 Crosby-Ironton graduate.
Style of music: Americana, when playing solo. Rock, when playing with his band, Fashionably Late.
John Pribyl
Career: "I've been a solo performer for probably three years. I played in an original band in the Twin Cities called the Ushers between '89 and '96. I design houses for a living; I'm self-employed. I have my own recording studio, too - One Horse Productions. It's been more of a hobby for 20-plus years, but with the home design business being a little slow, I'm firing up the music a little harder."
Dream come true: "I just like playing music; I don't really have a choice in the matter. You wake up and you want to play."
Ultimate dream: "I've had this recording studio for so long, I'd like to release a CD soon. And I'd like to make a living playing music, not necessarily anything more than that. I don't have big rock star dreams or anything."
Favorite Brainerd lakes area hangout: "I think the Eclectic Cafe has a nice atmosphere."
Favorite bands/musicians: "It's too hard to pick one. I get exposed to a lot of music - Glenn Miller, Ray Charles, Ryan Adams, Van Morrison, Neil Young."
Hatie Parmeter
Age: 16.

Hatie Parmeter
Style of music: "I write my own, and it's all acoustic. I like Michelle Branch, so I listen to a lot of acoustic stuff. I play whatever's new and mellow."
Career plans: "As ambitious as it sounds, I'd like to be editor of Teen Vogue. I'm going to college for journalism and fashion."
Dream come true: "Carrying a Kevlar canoe for half a mile through the Boundary Waters."
