Carleton College's Jake Phillips was named the MIAC men's basketball player of the week ending Feb. 17.
The Brainerd High School graduate passed Jim Lovrein for Carleton's career three-point lead, canning 5 of 6 from beyond the arc in the Knights' MIAC playoff quarterfinal 70-59 loss to Gustavus on Monday. Phillips finished his career with 241 three-pointers to surpass Lovrein's 239.

Phillips also tied his season record with 83 threes this season and ended his career by making 19 of his final 23 three-point attempts. He set what is believed to be an MIAC record by making 7-for-7 from beyond the arc against Macalester on Feb. 14.
The senior ended his career as Carleton's three-point percentage leader at 45.1 percent.
Phillips scored a career-high 30 points against Macalester and added a 21-point, 4-assist effort in Carleton's 71-65 win over Gustavus on Saturday. Phillips made 7-of-10 from the field, including 5-for-8 from three-point range, in the Feb. 17 win over Gustavus.
