The seventh annual Brainerd Family YMCA Charity Ball is scheduled March 9 at Cragun's Resort in East Gull Lake, with proceeds earmarked for youth programs, the organization announced.

The event -- at $50 per person -- will feature music by David Landeo and his band, food by members of the Central Lakes Chef's Association, and live and silent auctions, and casino-like games. For reservations, call 829-4767.

The second season of "Let's Bowl" starring Brainerd alum Steve Sedahl will premiere April 1 on the Comedy Central cable television channel.

Sedahl and fellow Twin Cities actor Rich Kronfeld host the half-hour comedy show, which features pairs of contestants who settle their grudges or arguments with a bowling contest.

One episode this season, for example, will pit a father and son in a match to decide whether junior gets to have a tattoo. The series is shot at Twin Cities area bowling lanes.

Several area residents are performing with the Concordia College Choir, which embarked last week on a 17-city tour in the West and Upper Midwest, the college announced.

The a cappella choir includes seniors Evan Kuhn, son of Daniel and Susan Kuhn of Baxter, and Louis Lauer, son of John and Nancy Lauer of East Gull Lake; junior Ana Sawdey, daughter of John and Cathy Taylor of Nisswa; and sophomore Cal Preisinger, son of Vicki Hansen of Deerwood.
