FERGUS FALLS - T.J. Struss scored his lone basket on a break-away layup with less than a minute remaining to clinch the Brainerd Warriors' 53-52 Central Lakes Conference victory over the Fergus Falls Otters Thursday.
Brainerd's Thomas Fairbanks led the team with 14 points, while Kyle Crocker scored 13 and Ben Gervais added 12.
"We played a strong defensive game tonight," Brainerd coach Matt Urbanek said. "T.J. Struss had one of our biggest plays of the year. He didn't play a lot in the second half, but he stayed mentally ready. He came in late and got a big steal with a break-away lay-up to push us up three with less than a minute remaining."
