Aldrich woman hurt in 2-vehicle collision

A 40-year-old Aldrich woman was injured in a two-vehicle collision at 3:28 p.m. Tuesday on Washington Street at Northwest Fifth Street in Brainerd, the Brainerd Police Department reported.

Penny Farber was driving westbound on Washington Street when she was struck by a vehicle driven by Cathy Eckert, 26, Staples, who was attempting to turn off Washington Street and onto Northwest Fifth Street.

Brainerd firefighters pried the door away from a station wagon that was involved in an accident with another vehicle Tuesday at the intersection of Washington and Northwest 5th Streets in Brainerd. Eckert told police that she didn't see Farber's vehicle and turned in front of it.

Farber was extricated from her vehicle by the Brainerd Fire Department and was transported by North Ambulance to St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd. Information on her condition was unavailable Tuesday night.
