RANDALL -- Carl L. Wurdelman, 86 year old resident of Randall, Minn., passed away Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at the Amazing Days Care Center north of Randall. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Randall with the Rev. Linden Wendzel officiating. Burial will be in the Randall City Cemetery in Randall. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 23 at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls and from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday evening at the Shelley Funeral Chapel.
Carl L. Wurdelman was born on Feb. 26, 1917, in Carter, Mont., to the late Rudolph and Alice (Heiman) Wurdelman. He grew up in Emery, S.D., and graduated from Emery High School in 1935. In 1939, the family purchased a farm and moved to Cushing, Minn. Carl was united in marriage to Hedy Petrich on Oct. 30, 1948, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Randall. He was an insurance agent, rural mail carrier for 28 years and a caretaker for Oak Hill Cemetery for many years. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, watching sports and especially spending time with his grandchildren. Carl is survived by his wife, Hedy Wurdelman of Randall, Minn.; a son, Dean Wurdelman and wife, Kelly of Sauk Rapids, Minn.; brothers, Herb Heiman of Sioux Falls, S.D.; many nieces and nephews; five grandchildren, Magan, Nikolas, Cody, Miranda and Michaela Wurdelman. Preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Alice Wurdelman and a niece, Jean Wurdelman. Honorary pallbearers will be Albert Nelson, Paul Czech, Ray Becker and Melvin Meyer. Active pallbearers will be Allan Petrich, Brent Petrich, Doug Loy, Harvard Axel, Duane Bolling and Billy Dols.
Arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls.
