20 years ago (1984)

A resolution calling for the "Cooperative Sponsorship of the Westgate Mall Project" with Brainerd was passed by the Baxter City Council at its meeting last night.

30 years ago (1974)

A Doctor Recruitment Committee was formed recently at St. Joseph's Hospital to seek additional physicians to serve the Brainerd area, with emphasis on specialists.

40 years ago (1964)

Plunging temperatures, snow, and high winds are in store for the Brainerd area. The forecasts call for temperatures to plunge as low as 20 below, blowing snow, and winds up to 50 mph.

60 years ago (1944)

The Nokay and Long Lake Fox Club staged its annual fox hunt Sunday afternoon near Bock's Dairy Ranch on Nokay Township, and brought in approximately 33 foxes from the day's hunt.

80 years ago (1924)

The city has installed a sample mushroom light at the Kingwood and 6th Street intersection. It is hoped that if the new light proves satisfactory that a number of similar ones will be placed at important intersections.

100 years ago (1904)

The Eastern Star members will give a dancing party on Monday evening. The event will be a very swell social function and will doubtless be largely attended. Graham's Orchestra will furnish the music.
