Injuries suffered in snowmobile accident
One person was driven to shore in the back of a pickup after suffering injuries in a snowmobiling accident Thursday afternoon on North Long Lake near Merrifield. North Ambulance workers waited at the lake landing to treat the snowmobiler as well as one other person injured in the accident. Accident information was not available from the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department. Brainerd and Nisswa fire departments assisted at the scene.

Tough times for school districts
Thank you for the timely editorial in the Feb. 12 Dispatch regarding the Brainerd School District's $2.9 million deficit for the 2004-2005 school year. These are tough times, not only for school districts around the state, but other governmental units that depend on funding from the legislature. As you may recall, Gov. Pawlenty and the Legislature had to deal with a huge deficit last year.
