Oliver Howard Lindholm, 84, Brainerd, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at Woodland Good Samaritan Village.
He was born May 25, 1917, in Spicer to John Enoch and Alice (Johnson) Lindholm. He attended high school in Willmar. He worked for the Delano Motor Co. in Delano. He married Leahnette Anna Johnson on June 13, 1942, in Delano. In 1942, he entered the Army and served in the Medical Corps and the Army Band in Arkansas and Texas until his discharge in 1945. He worked for the Delano Granite Works as a sales processor for 29 years and then worked for Takor Plastics for five years before retiring in 1979. He moved to an apartment at Woodland Good Samaritan Village on Aug. 1, 2001. He moved to the Woodland Good Samaritan Nursing Home on Jan. 18. He was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Delano for many years and served as Sunday school superintendent for more than 25 years. He was on the board of education when Mount Olive Lutheran School was opened. For the past 22 years, he was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Baxter and served as an elder and Christian education committee member.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Oliver Lindholm Jr., Winona, and Joel Lindholm, Delano; a daughter, Judith Gurgel, Appleton, Wis.; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Betty Bernice Ruud and Arlene Lindholm, both of St. Paul.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Baxter with the Rev. Arthur Frenz officiating.
Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
