Marcel E. Doucette, 77, Brainerd, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at Bethany Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd.
He was born in Belle Prairie on Oct. 24, 1924, to Edward and Sophie (Barbeau) Doucette. He worked at Potlatch as a machinist from 1945 until his retirement in 1987. He served in the Army from Sept. 17, 1946, until June 1, 1947, and in the Air Force from Sept. 5, 1950, until Sept. 4, 1954. He was a member of the VFW.
Survivors include three sons, Ed Doucette, LaCrosse, Bernie Doucette, Fort Ripley, and Wayne Doucette, Big Lake; a daughter, Maria DeRosier, Fort Ripley; a sister, Sylvia Gaboury, Little Falls; two brothers, Irving Morrissette, North St. Paul, and Leon Doucette, Shakopee; and six grandchildren.
His parents; two sons, Mark and Roger; and a brother, Clayton, died earlier.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie with the Rev. Paul Fruth officiating. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery at Camp Ripley with military honors provided by the Brainerd VFW Post No. 1647.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday with rosary at 5 p.m. at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd and an hour before services at the church.
