Deerwood-Bay Lake seniors to meet Feb. 27

DEERWOOD -- The Deerwood-Bay Lake Senior Citizens Club will have its potluck and meeting at noon Wednesday, Feb. 27, in the Deerwood American Legion Clubrooms.

All those coming are reminded to bring their own dishes, silver and something to pass. Coffee and cake will be provided.

Hostesses will be Ruth Yerke and Kaye Frey.

The program will be announced.

Bi-County CAP board seeks members

Bi-County Community Action Program has openings on its board of directors for two low-income representatives, one from Beltrami County and one from Cass County.

The board members will be elected in April. The nomination process ends March 22. Low-income people who want to help others through Bi-CAP can get more information from the Bemidji office at (218) 751-4631. People outside the Bemidji area can call Bi-CAP toll-free at 1-800-332-7161.

The board of directors meets monthly. Its purpose is to adopt the overall policies of the agency, review grant applications and reports, establish agency goals and priorities, and monitor and evaluate agency operations. Members receive a meeting allowance and are reimbursed for travel expenses.

Crosslake town square meeting set Tuesday

CROSSLAKE -- The Crosslake Retail Committee of the Brainerd Lakes Area Chambers of Commerce is sponsoring an informational meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Crosslake Community Center regarding several projects in the city.

A presentation will be made about the town square retail development. The municipal sewer project report, with final cost information, also will be provided and further details about the joint city/county public works facility will be shared.

This meeting is open to the public.
