Legislators coming to Brainerd

Legislators who are expected to attend a bipartisan task force of state representatives and senators were named Wednesday.

The town hall meeting regarding the state budget deficit will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Washington Educational Services Building, 804 Oak St. in Brainerd.

Members of the community are encouraged to attend to hear more details about the budget, as well as share their suggestions and input on the future of Minnesota.

Attending the meeting will be Rep. John Ward, DFL-Brainerd, vice chair of the K-12 Education Finance Division; Sen. Paul Koering, R-Fort Ripley, ranking minority member of the Health, Housing and Family Security Committee; Speaker of the House Margaret Anderson Kelliher, DFL-Minneapolis; Representatives Loren Solberg, DFL-Grand Rapids, chair of the Ways and Means Committee; Mindy Greiling, DFL-Roseville, chair of the K-12 Education Finance Division; Jean Wagenius, DFL- Minneapolis, chair of the Environment and Natural Resources Finance Division; Larry Howes, R-Walker, lead on the Capital Investment Finance Division; Melissa Hortman, DFL-Brooklyn Park, assistant leader; Denny McNamara, R-Hastings, lead on the Environment Policy and Oversight Committee; and Dan Severson, R-Sauk Rapids, minority whip.

Also attending will be Sens. Ellen Anderson, DFL-St. Paul, chair of the Environment, Energy and Natural Resources Budget Division; and Gen Olson, R-Minnetrista, ranking minority member of the E-12 Education Budget and Policy Division.
