Spuds take 63-46 victory

MOORHEAD -- Megan Arns scored 20 points for the Brainerd Warriors girls' basketball team, but it was the Moorhead Spuds coming away victorious 63-46 Tuesday in a possible Section 8, Class 4A preview.

"This is two games in a row that we've started off slow," said Warriors' coach Carl Hendrickson "Against good teams we can't allow them to get off to fast starts."

The Warriors got as close as two points in the fourth quarter, but solid free-throw shooting by Moorhead was the difference. The Spuds shot 11-12 from the line in the final frame.

"We just couldn't get shots to fall," said Hendrickson. "Some nights it just goes like that."

Maria Swanson was also in double figures for the Warriors with 10 points.
