Chris Nelson had four goals and an assist to push the Brainerd Warriors past South Suburban 6-1 in adapted floor hockey Monday.
"We played well enough to get the win," Warriors coach Bruce Thompson said, "but we need to play better to beat the No. 1-rated team (Robbinsdale tonight)."
In addition to the great game by Nelson, Mitch Hodgman also put together a strong effort in goal for the Warriors. He finished one shot away from a shutout. South Suburban shot the puck and it hit the side of the net. Then it hit the back post, giving the appearance that it was a goal, but in actuality the puck never went in.
