MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The parent company of Fingerhut is saying little about any progress toward finding a buyer for the troubled catalog retailer, while the mothballing of the company continues.
The silence of Federated Department Stores has frustrated state and local officials.
"We think Federated needs to be a little more upfront about who's making offers, what is the nature of the offers and, if they are being rejected, why," said St. Cloud Mayor John Ellenbecker. U.S. Sen. Paul Wellstone expressed similar feelings.
