Peggy Jean Modler

MELROSE, Fla. -- Peggy Jean Modler, 50, Melrose, Fla., formerly of Crosby, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, at the University of Florida Medical Center in Gainesville, Fla.

She was born Nov. 14, 1951, in Crosby to Boyd and Jeanette (Ruoko) Smith. She graduated from Crosby-Ironton High School in 1969.

Survivors include her husband, Michael; her parents; three brothers, Robert Smith, Bloomington, Patrick Smith, Crosby, and Richard Smith, Colorado Springs, Colo.; four sisters, Susan McCloskey, Pueblo, Colo., Pamela and Janet Smith, both of Madison, Wis., and Maureen Alaboud, Brooklyn Park.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Crosby with Father Howard Eisel officiating. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby.

Friends may call one hour before services Saturday at the church.

Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
