CROSBY -- Crosby-Ironton teachers planned to take the day off from manning the picket lines Friday because it would have been a vacation day for students if teachers hadn't been striking, said union president Stan Nagorski Thursday.
Teachers will picket on a voluntary basis on Monday, Presidents Day, and will be joined by several teachers from school districts from around the state, including Kimball, St. Paul, White Bear Lake and others.
C-I students would have had school conferences this week with their spring break Friday through Monday.
C-I teachers have been on strike since Feb. 9.
Superintendent Linda Lawrie couldn't be reached for comment Thursday.
