How the postseason shapes up for the Brainerd Warriors and Little Falls Flyers boys' hockey teams will become more clear later Wednesday.

Brainerd, in Section 7, Class 2A, has its seed meeting at Cloquet. Little Falls, in Section 4, Class 1A, seeds at Alexandria.

Both should get a home game when their respective tournaments open Tuesday.

Warriors end regular season Thursday

Brainerd ends the regular season at home Thursday against St. Cloud Tech. The best it can do is tie the Tigers for second place in the Central Lakes Conference.

The Warriors enter the game 11-2-1 in conference play, 15-7-2 overall. Tech is 12-1-1 and 20-3-1. The Tigers beat Brainerd 5-1 Jan. 15.

A Tech victory ties the Tigers with Alexandria (13-1-1) for the conference crown. A Tech loss enables Brainerd to tie the Tigers for second place.

"There are a couple ways to look at it," Warriors coach Ty Eigner said. "It's the last game against Tech for your seniors, the last conference game for your seniors and you've got a chance to play the spoiler. You can take the conference title away from them by winning the game.

"Lastly, you want to be going into the playoffs on a three-game win streak as opposed to losing your last game and having to get cranked up for the playoffs."
