WEST FARGO, N.D. -- Donald E. Grieger, 68, West Fargo, N.D., died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, at home.
He was born June 1, 1934, in Ameniam, N.D., to Walter and Edna (Rieniets) Grieger. He attended school at Empire District 73 and graduated from Arthur High School. He served in the Navy for four years. In 1956, he married Patricia Press in California. They lived in California while he was in the Navy. They moved back to Fargo, N.D., upon his discharge. He was in the military reserves for a number of years. He worked as a manager for AT&T in Fargo and later transferred to Minneapolis. He married Marilyn Johnson Fossen, formerly of Brainerd, on April 7, 1984, in Minneapolis. He also worked for US West before retiring in 1966. They moved to Glyndon in 1993.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Dona Coffer, Graham, Wash., and Kathryn Passig, Chanhassen; two sons, Robert Grieger, Annandale, and John Grieger, Virginia; two stepsons, David Fossen, Holland, Mich., and Richard Fossen, Minneapolis; a stepdaughter, Ann Steinkamp, Minneapolis; seven grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; two brothers, Gerald, Fargo, N.D., and Carl, Rochert; and two sisters, Ethel Satrom, Fargo, N.D., and Mary Schmidt, West Fargo, N.D.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Glyndon Lutheran Church. Burial will be in an Arthur, N.D., cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. today with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the West Funeral Home in West Fargo, N.D., and an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
