MnDOT flagman critical

PILLAGER - A Minnesota Department of Transportation flagman working on Highway 210 near Pillager was struck by a car and critically injured, the State Patrol reported.

Larry Potter, 57, Brainerd, was listed in critical condition at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale on Friday.

Potter had been working at a road construction site on Highway 210 West of Cass County Road 1 near Pillager on Thursday when a vehicle heading eastbound on Highway 210 did not follow the construction lane change and struck him.

That vehicle, a 2007 Kia van, was driven by Donovan P. Stern, 84, of Benton, Ark. Stern and his passenger, Charlotte R. Stern, 53, of Benton, Ark., both were not reportedly injured in the accident.

The accident was reported at 2:05 p.m. Thursday.
