Dear Readers: Donna J. Mueller from Fremont, Neb., sent in a very funny story about her son's dog, Charlie, a golden retriever who is about 5 or 6 months old.
Charlie was out in the yard, and when her son, Garry, went to pick up the newspaper, he found that Charlie had it chewed into little, tiny pieces -- all except for one piece about 3 by 5 inches. Garry picked it up and saw that it was a coupon, all intact for dog food!
When he went shopping, he used the coupon and bought that brand of dog food. Charlie loves it. Who said that dogs can't read? -- Heloise
Dear Heloise: To help my maturing, indoor cat, I decided to plant some grass, and rather than planting it in a bowl, I used a small window-box planter.
This permits rotation of the plantings and allows a constant supply to be available for the lovely Miss Callie. -- Cynthia Roberson, Columbia, Md.
