Mary Lou K. Munson

KEIZER, Ore. - Mary Lou Munson went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 11, 2007, at the age of 78.

Born in Brainerd, Minn., to Fred and Mary Anderson, she was raised with a twin sister and three brothers. She graduated from Washington High School with the nickname "Athletic Mary." She married Gary Munson on June 10, 1950. They moved from the Midwest to Oregon in 1975 and lived in the Salem-Keizer area since 1987. Mary enjoyed watersports, golf, traveling, sewing, cooking and bridge. Her greatest love was raising and caring for her family.

Mary is survived by her husband; daughter, Jan and John Felkner and their children, Daniel and Leah, of Wausau, Wis.; son, David and Dee Dee Munson and their children, Christopher and Jessica, of West Linn, Ore.; and daughter, Kirstin and Alex Rhoten and their children, Lacey and Nick, of Salem, Ore. Mary is also survived by a brother, "Babe" Anderson, of Green Valley, Ariz. Mary will be missed dearly as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all she shared her life with.

A private memorial will be held Feb. 17. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association by calling (503) 413-6466 or mailing to 1311 N.W. 21st Ave. Portland, OR 97209.
